Is the governing body for the social Greek fraternities at Western Carolina.  The InterFraternity Council is composed of representatives from each member faternity and provides a forum for discussion on common probems, while workin to strenghten the fraternty system.

  The Panhellenic Council is the governing body of the sororities on campus.  They organize and direct recruitment and all other inclusive events including philanthropy or community service.  The word Panhellenic means all Greek and refers to the 26 nationl women's fraternal organizatios or soroities affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference.

  The National Pan-Hellenic Council here at Western Carolina is comprised of six historically African-American fraternities and sororities.  This governing body strives for unanimity of thought and action as far as possible in the conduct of its chapters and their members.  They also pursue the mutual interests of its member orgaizations.

  The Western Carolina Greek Council is the umbrella student organization that provides a forum atmosphere to hear issues that face the entire Greek community.  They puruse the interests of the entire Greek community and not just that of the governing council. In the near future they will be responsible for the conferral of the Greek Judicial Board members.

  The Theta Pi Chapter of Order of Omega is an honorary organization that recognizes excellence in members of the Greek community.  Membership is done through an application process and then reviewed by the current membership of Order of Omega.  Each year this organization inducts less than five percent of the total greek community population.
