The WE LEAD Team is a small, dynamic team of Western Carolina University students who act as ambassadors for Student Leadership, which is part of the Leadership Studies and Programs based in the UC Leadership Center. Our mission is to provide leadership development opportunities to the student body of Western Carolina University. We do this in two main ways: by providing programs to student organizations and by serving as mentors and facilitators for the Freshman Leadership Institute Program.
WE LEAD Team members work together to develop and present programs that help students and groups of students become more effective leaders. Team members represent all kinds of majors and interests, and are involved in other roles on campus, such as:
- Student Government Association
- SGA Homecoming Committee
- Clubs and Organizations
- Undergraduate Research programs
The team is a small group, so each member must be devoted to the team and to the group’s purposes. Team members must be available for fall 2008 training sessions. Members must be personable, energetic, and eager to respond to requests for leadership program presentations.
