The concert will be held in the recital hall of the Coulter Building and is open to the public free of charge.
The 53-voice University Chorus, conducted by Robert Holquist and featuring accompaniment by Meagan Gillette, will perform the American folk song “The Water is Wide” arranged by Zaninelli, the Irish folk song “Red Is the Rose” arranged by Brymer, and “Because We Sing,” an up-tempo pop piece by Mac Huff and John Jacobson
The Catamount Chamber Singers, with 17 singers and seven instrumentalists, will perform the a cappella selection “Jada Jazz” arranged by Donald Moore, “The Best of Duke Ellington” arranged by Kirby Shaw, and “Hit That Jive Jack” by Alston and Tolbert. The ensemble is conducted by Bruce Frazier with accompaniment by Patrick Thomas.
The 42-voice Concert Choir, also directed by Holquist with accompanist Thomas, will perform “Pie Jesu” from Al Webber’s Requiem, “Psalm 150” by former music faculty member Paul Basler, and a spiritual by Moses Hogan, “My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord.”
