Application Checklist
Applying to college can sometimes feel overwhelming. Stay on track with this checklist of important steps:
Freshmen
Transfers
International Students
- Complete the online application for admission.
- Pay the nonrefundable application fee of $40. (This may be waived for former applicants.)
- Have a copy of your transcript sent from your high school.
- Have your standardized test scores sent to WCU. For the SAT I, use Code 5897. For the ACT, use Code 3172.
- Explore financial aid opportunities.
- Complete the online application for admission.
- Pay the nonrefundable application fee of $40. (This may be waived for former applicants.)
- Have a copy of your transcript sent from each college you have attended. Also have your high school transcript sent, unless:
- you have earned an associate’s degree, or
- you are 24 years of age or older and have completed 30 hours of college-level work with at least a 2.0 GPA
- Have your standardized test scores sent to WCU. For the SAT I, use Code 5897. For the ACT, use Code 3172.

- Download, complete, and submit the international application (PDF) for undergraduate admission. (Online applications are not currently available for international students.)
- Pay the application fee of $40 (US).
- Have official copies of academic records from secondary and postsecondary institutions sent to us. This includes a record of courses taken and grades received, graduation date, and diploma or certificates received. Course work taken at postsecondary institutions should be submitted to the World Education Services for evaluation.
- Send your Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores to WCU. The SAT is required for native English speakers.
- Obtain a visa. Download the certification of finances form (PDF) and visit the Heath Center website for immunization information.
