To date, close to $40,000 has been raised and our first recipient of the scholarship has been named. The Alumni Association took on this special project as an “above and beyond” effort so as not to sacrifice other vital university initiatives that are already being supported.

Scholarship Selection Criteria
Criteria for selection include:
- preference shall be given to a rising sophomore, junior or senior enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking course of study.
- preference shall be given to a full-time resident of the state of North Carolina.
- recipient shall be and remain in good academic standing with the University.
Giving to the Scholarship Fund
Give something back to WCU by donating to the Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
WCU Alumni Association members who contribute to the fund at the following levels will be recognized by having their name placed on an appropriate bronze, silver, gold, or platinum nameplate on a commemorative plaque to be hung in the Alumni House:
- Bronze: $100.00-249.00
- Silver: $250.00-499.00
- Gold: $500.00-999.00
- Platinum: $1,000.00 or greater
