Undergraduate Programs in Music
Western’s School of Music serves approximately 180 undergraduate music students in variety of exciting and challenging programs. Whether your interests are in performance, music education, musical theatre, music industry, or commercial and electronic music, you will find Western’s undergraduate program will stimulate you to develop your musical skills while preparing for your professional career.
The following undergraduate music degrees are conferred at Western Carolina University:
- Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) in Music
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in music industry and general disciplines
- Bachelor of Music (B.M.) in performance, commercial and electronic music, and musical theatre
A minor in music is available to students who wish to pursue another major while undertaking foundational studies in music performance and musicianship. Like the undergraduate degree programs, acceptance into the minor requires a live audition before music faculty.
