Jack Sholder, professor and director of the motion picture and television production program at Western Carolina University, will be a judge and presenter at Eastern New Mexico University’s High Plains Film Festival.
Filmmakers are competing in animated, dramatic and documentary/experimental works that are no longer than 10 minutes. The screening of winning entries is set for May 4 on the ENMU campus in Portales, N.M.
During the festival, Sholder will make a presentation about his experience as an editor of “King – From Montgomery to Memphis,” which was nominated for an Academy Award for best documentary.
Western’s program in motion picture and television production exposes students to the history, craft and art of motion pictures and television while providing hands-on experience with some of the most up-to-date equipment in the industry.
