Surrounded by the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains, WCU’s approximately 600-acre campus blends scenic beauty with convenient, modern facilities. The result is a pleasant learning and living environment that fosters a healthy balance of work and play.
Fun
At the heart of campus is the “UC,” the A.K. Hinds University Center, a place for students to meet, mingle, and take advantage of services designed to make college life just a little more pleasant, from our movie theater to the very popular food court.
Students also gather on the quad—a green space ideal for a sunny afternoon study break or an outdoor festival—and take time to stroll the pathways of our pedestrian-friendly campus.
Convenient
The campus is big enough to contain everything you’ll need for a stimulating college experience, and small enough to feel like home. Facilities are regularly upgraded, and buildings are clustered to make navigating your way from classes to meals to home easy and convenient.
And growing!
In just the past five years, more than 20 facilities have been constructed, expanded, or renovated—including the Fine and Performing Arts Center, the Center for Applied Technology, and several residence halls.
And thanks to the Millennial Initiative, 344 acres have been added to WCU's land—doubling the size of the campus. Over the next 10 years, opportunities for research, community partnerships, and economic development will continue to grow, making WCU the place to be for a tremendous university experience.
